About the Author

Dr. Alan Rockoff was born in Uniontown, PA and grew up in the New York area, where he attended Yeshiva College and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After residency training in Pediatrics, he studied Dermatology in Boston and began practice in 1979. As Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Tufts University School of Medicine, he has supervised senior medical students for 30 years. Dr. Rockoff writes a regular column for Skin & Allergy News, a monthly newspaper for practicing dermatologists. He and his wife Shuli live in Newtonville, MA. They have three children and seven grandchildren (so far).
